1. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will have to undergo a jail term of three years and six months after the Supreme Court has upheld his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
2. India has successfully carried out the maiden test firing of the over 290 km-range submarine-launched version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in the Bay of Bengal becoming the first country in the world to have this capability.
3. Veteran Congress leader and former Nagaland Chief Minister Senayangba Chubatoshi Jamir has been sworn-in as the Governor of Odisha even as the Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh left the ceremony alleging “protocol violation”.

SSC Program Executive and Transmission Executive in The Prasar Bharti

1238 Vacancies in ‘The Prasar Bharati’ :-

The Prasar Bharati (PB) is India’s largest broadcaster and comprises Doordarshan & All India Radio. It invites application from young, dynamic and skilled personnel for recruitment of Programme Executive, Transmission Executive and Production Assistant all over India. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct written exam for this posts on behalf of the Prasar Bharati. Interested candidates may apply for the said post regarding following details.

Job Description:

1) Programme Executive: 360 Posts

Salary: Appointed candidates will be received remuneration n pay band of Rs. 9300-34800/- + G.P. Rs.4600/-.

2) Transmission Executive and Production Assistant: 878 Posts

Salary: Appointed candidates will be received remuneration n pay band of Rs. 9300-34800/- + G.P. Rs.4200/-.

Educational Qualification: Candidate should have completed M.A. or M. Sc from a recognized University OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with Diploma in Dramatic arts or its equivalent OR Diploma in Journalism from a recognized University/Institute. Please read qualification in original notification (given below).

Age Limit: Age of the candidate should not be more than 30 years as on 01/01/2013.

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is available to reserved category candidates as per the rules of government.

Dates to Remember: Last date for online registration is 19/04/2013. Written examination will be taken on 02/06/2013.

Application Fees: An application fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) is to be payable by the Candidates in the form of Challan or Net Banking through State Bank India (SBI). SC/ST/ PH and women candidates are exempted from application fee.

Selection Process: Selection of the candidate will be made on the basis of performance in written examination. Exam will be conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

(2) Librarian:
Educational Requirements: At least second class Master’s degree in Science (Preferably in Biological Sciences) of a recognized university or equivalent.Degree or equivalent in Library Science of a recognized institute or university
