Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), offers admissions to its Distance Education courses twice a year; in June and January. For its January 2014 admission session applications are available till 16th December 2013. Courses offered in January session include 24 Masters Degree Programmes, 6 Bachelors Degree Programmes, 44 Diploma courses and 63 Certificate courses. IGNOU, set up in 1985, is now the world's largest University with a total of 470 Programmes offered and more than 40 Lakh students.
Masters Degrees:
Masters Degrees may be completed in a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 5 years. Basic eligibility for a Master of Arts Degree is Graduation in any stream. Master of Science Degree requires a Bachelors Degree in the relevant subject. Subjects with a technical angle will have practical classes and examinations in addition to theory classes and exams.

Diploma Courses eligibility is 10+2, while PG Diploma courses require Bachelors degree, and similarly Certificate courses eligibility is 10+2 and PG certificate courses' eligibility is a Bachelors degree.
How to apply:
Application form is available online. Fees can be paid either online or offline. For offline payment keep ready a demand draft in the value of the application fees before you fill out the online application form; those paying online through credit card/debit card may do so while completing the form. After successfully submitting the form a confirmation number will be generated. Print out the completed form with the confirmation number. Attach passport size photographs and relevant certificates and send through post to your nearest IGNOU Regional Centre.
Application fees are applicable according to the course you are interested in.
